Even though Equinox are renowned for delivering hundreds of exhibitions across the globe every year, their creative talents reach right around the world of galas and events too.
Recently, they recreated the tour of one of the world’s most popular film series’ in Brighton, England.
“We were successful in winning the tender process for ExploreGB 2017” said Danny Vento, Account Manager for Equinox Design. “They were working with lead sponsors Warner Bros, and the Harry Potter Studio Tour, London to create an event for 2017 that was simply on another level. And they needed the quality and expertise of a design and build company who could bring that event to life.”
ExploreGB is VisitBritain’s flagship event providing Great British & Irish tourism suppliers and destinations with an invaluable opportunity to meet and do business with up to 300 hosted international travel buyers from 40+ countries.
And this event required the flair and know-how of Equinox to transform the Brighton Centre in to an experience with an authentic, stunning and exasperating Harry Potter look.
“It was going to be a huge occasion” Danny told us. “A gala dinner with 1000 people; immersed in a real-life, eye-opening Harry Potter experience for one fantastic evening.”
Equinox met the Visit Britain and Warner Bros team a number of times, working in tandem to discuss ideas, present designs, and converse about timescales and execution to ensure that the project was delivered with style and excellence.
They were tasked with transforming the venue, re-creating many of the scenes from the world-famous Harry Potter tour, and giving guests a taste of the real thing.
The results were outstanding.
Vento said: “Following a Tourism Ireland drinks reception, guests saw the launch of the Forbidden Forest featuring the real Aragog from the film series, and took part in a live interactive wand experience directed by Paul Harris, wand choreographer for the whole Harry Potter film series.”
He added: “They then dined in the Great Hall, before being whisked through Malfoys Manor, Platform 9; took part in a 3/4 photo experience, the Dark Arts and many more parts of the tour.”
Warwick Davies, who played Professor Flitwick also made a special appearance, leaving guests thrilled at their entire Harry Potter experience.
With Equinox’s management of the project, coupled with their fantastic design team and excellent execution, the results proved to be very dramatic; and hit the spot with organisers and visitors alike.
